The “Making A Difference Through Kindness Honoree” celebrates the spirit of civic engagement demonstrated by persons who are making significant contributions through their time, actions, talents and dedication. The honoree is as a role model for compassion, and service and be striving to make the community a better place.

Our inaugural honoree, for Summer 2017, is Diane Brown. To the community she is known as Ms. Brown. Ms. Brown has been a “day 1” supporter of The KINDNESS Campaign which has included participation on several projects, resource development and being a strong advocate.
Ms. Brown is a lifelong Chicagoan and resident of the Woodlawn community. Ms. Brown is also a member of St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, Kim-Lawn (a community collaboration), South Oakwood-Brookhaven Neighborhood Organization and Antonio’s Response, a strategic violence intervention and prevention movement.
Ms. Brown has been very active in the community plays a huge role in organizing and mentoring youth.
We honor Ms. Brown for possessing a big heart and being committed to building healthy and safe communities through community service, stewardship and supporting KIND people in their roles as leaders.
